Chickpea Cheese

Ingredients:
[ ] 320 grams cooked or canned chickpeas, well drained and rinsed if using canned
[ ] 325 ml water
[ ] 7 tablespoons nutritional yeast flakes
[ ] 2 tablespoons avocado oil
[ ] 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
[ ] 1 teaspoon salt (use 2 teaspoons if cooking chickpeas from scratch)
[ ] 1 teaspoon garlic powder
[ ] ½ teaspoon turmeric
[ ] 2¼ teaspoons agar agar powder

Method:
[ ] Add the chickpeas, water, nutritional yeast, avocado oil, apple cider vinegar, salt, garlic powder and turmeric to a blender
[ ] Blend until completely smooth and lump-free
[ ] Pour the mixture into a saucepan
[ ] Add the agar agar powder and whisk thoroughly to ensure it is fully incorporated
[ ] Bring to a full gentle boil over medium heat
[ ] Cook for 6 minutes once it starts boiling, stirring continuously
[ ] Once the mixture has thickened slightly, pour it into a lightly oiled container or lined mould
[ ] Smooth the top
[ ] Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until fully set
[ ] Slice as desired, can be kept in the fridge for 7 days
